The classic arcade vibe of Wreck-It Ralph which leapt off the cinema screen on to the Commodore 64, and then on to the ZX Spectrum Next, has now arrived on the Commodore Amiga thanks to BrokenBytes. While fans have spent years recreating the movie's fictional 1982 arcade hit Fix-It Felix Jr. on everything from mobile phones to the ZX Spectrum, a definitive new version has appeared as a port to the Commodore Amiga. While Steven Day recently reached out to us to share this exciting news, you can check out the latest screenshots and details below.
ZX Spectrum Next - Amiga Gameplay Soon! The game faithfully reimagines the chaotic story of Ralph raging against the Nicelanders who bulldozed his forest home to build an apartment complex. Players step into the shoes of the town's brave handyman, Felix Jr., scaling the building to repair every broken window with his father's magic golden hammer while avoiding falling bricks thrown by Ralph and passing ducks. To survive the timer across each floor, players can grab piping-hot apple pies left on window sills by grateful residents, granting Felix temporary invincibility, brick-smashing power, and scoring multipliers.
This new Amiga version delivers an incredibly authentic arcade experience. The release boasts striking PAL OCS graphics, fluid hardware animations, fully animated cinematic cutscenes—including the iconic rooftop victory celebration, smooth building scrolling and moving clouds, original artwork, sampled sound effects and speech, three-channel music and so much more. So yes, an incredible release and worthy of a big feature on IndieRetroNews.
