NFL Retro Bowl 27 Available Today on Apple Arcade with New Gauntlet Mode

New Star Games has released NFL Retro Bowl 27 exclusively on Apple Arcade, bringing back its retro take on football with a new Gauntlet mode, 12-man rosters and another round of leaderboards and challenges.

Gauntlet is the biggest addition this year, putting players in charge of a team with limited resources and asking them to survive a 16-game winning streak. Along the way, they’ll have to decide whether to take the safer matchup or go after a tougher opponent for better rewards, which can include real NFL players and perks to help strengthen the roster.

Losing doesn’t completely wipe out the progress from a run. Player XP and abilities carry over, so teams can gradually improve before jumping back in for another attempt. Those who manage to survive the full streak will eventually face a division rival in a winner-takes-all matchup with weekly leaderboard positioning also part of the mode.

Career mode returns with more than 3,000 real NFL and NFLPA players, along with additional ways to build a team. The fan-favorite 12-man roster option is also back, giving players a little more flexibility when putting their squad together.

The NFL Retro Bowl Championship Leaderboard returns with a new campaign where fans can help push their favorite team up the community rankings while earning badges along the way. Pass-and-play Exhibition Mode is back as well with new seasonal Game Center Challenges planned throughout the year.
