Pac-Man has spent decades navigating mazes and avoiding ghosts. This winter, he’s taking on a less arcade-like challenge: snow-covered driveways. Yarbo and Bandai Namco are teaming up on a limited-edition version of the Yarbo Y40 robotic snow-clearing system, bringing PAC-MAN-inspired design and storytelling to an outdoor chore that usually offers fewer bonus points. The limited edition is a curious crossover between arcade nostalgia and practical yard equipment. Pac-Man fans can now watch the yellow mascot take on a seasonal maze of a different sort, though this one will cost more than your weekly allowance.
The collaboration pairs the Yarbo Y40 Core with its Snow Blower Gen 2. It will be sold in the United States and Canada through Yarbo’s website and Amazon. The complete system is priced at $6,399 in the U.S. From October 22 through November 2, buyers of an eligible limited-edition system will also receive a Plow Blade at no additional cost.
Underneath the arcade theme, the machine keeps the same autonomous snow-clearing features. Yarbo says its tracked platform uses RTK-GPS positioning and intelligent path planning to navigate designated areas. The Snow Blower Gen 2 uses a two-stage snow-throwing system and is designed to handle conditions including deep and wet snow.
The system can also recharge automatically and resume work after an interruption, reducing the need for owners to keep checking on it. Yarbo’s modular platform is designed for year-round outdoor maintenance, with an operating temperature range of -25°C to 45°C and an IPX6 water-resistance rating.
The PAC-MAN tie-in adds a familiar face to the equipment, but the pitch is still about getting the work done without manual shoveling. Yarbo says the limited edition retains the snow-clearing system’s autonomous capabilities, while the collaboration gives the machine a more playful identity. Whether that makes clearing the driveway feel like a game is another matter. At this price, most buyers will probably be more interested in whether it clears the driveway reliably.
